VLC media player 2.2.2 has been released, with a ton of new features.
The most important addition to the application, is support for Mac OS El Capitan.
It is a bit surprising, that the developers took this long, to add suppoert for the latest version of the operating system, which was launched over four months ago. But it should work just fine now

This will open the search menu, which you can use to select the language of the subtitle you need, the movie name, TV series name, etc, and then you can download the selected subtitles to your PC.
This new feature uses the good old VLSUB extension, which is now built-in to the app.

And speaking of extensions, you will no longer need to download them from the VLC add-ons repository website anymore. VLC media player 2.2.2 now allows you to download the add-ons from within the application. Click on the Tools menu > Plugins and Extensions. This will allow you to check the “Find All Add-ons” option, which will allow you to search for and download the extensions, and install them.
